Bitch
Intact female dog. (full reproductive organs)
 
Dog
Intact male dog. (full reproductive organs)
 
Dam
The bitch that is pregnant/mother of the puppies.
Sire
The dog that has fathered the puppies (stud dog).
 
Stud dog
The intact dog that will mate with the bitch.
 
Neutering
The removal of an animal’s reproductive system.
Spayed
Female dog that has had both ovaries and uterus surgically removed, and is not capable of producing offspring.
 
Neutered
A male dog that has had both testicles surgically removed, and is not capable of producing offspring. Also known as castration. Some refer to "neutered" as a male or female dog that has been surgically altered to render them sterile (testicles removed or ovaries removed, making them not capable of producing offspring).
 
Intact
An animal that is not spayed or neutered.  The animal has a full reproductive system capable of producing offspring.
